Greetings colleagues! Again, welcome to my blog.
September is typically “back to school” month. What is your outlook this time around? Do you have specific hopes for the new year? What would you most like to be different from last year?
September is also Fetal Alcohol Disorder Awareness month. (If you’ve read my book then you know all about Ray, a student of mine who had been exposed to alcohol in the womb).
Maybe you know a lot, or maybe you know little about this disorder. Support for research has been very limited.
Here are some great resources, information, and videos from the Addictions, Drugs, and Alcohol Institute: https://adai.uw.edu/fasdtoolkit/educators.htm
How well do you know FASD? Here is quick quiz to test your knowledge about this disorder:

All Those Pieces
Were there any stories from my book that stood out? Were there characters that reminded you of some of your students or clients?
It’s difficult for me to pinpoint a favorite character. I enjoyed writing about each and every one of them.
But I’m interested in your stories as well! Do you have a special tale to tell? Feel free to express yourself through this forum. Share a unique account or anecdote. This SLP wants to hear more about you, and I’m sure many others do too!
